Your Right to Delete
amazonia.tours respects your right to delete your personal data at any time. This page explains how to permanently remove your account and associated data from amazonia.tours, as required by GDPR and by platform policies such as Meta's Platform Terms for apps using Facebook Login.
Self-Serve: Delete Your Account from the Platform
If you can log in to your account, this is the fastest way to delete your data:
- Log in at amazonia.tours
- Open your profile page by clicking your name or avatar in the header
- Scroll to the bottom of your profile
- Click the "Delete all your data" button
- Confirm the action when prompted
Your account, profile, uploaded media, recommendations, and activity history are removed immediately. You will be signed out and redirected to the homepage.
By Email: If You Can't Log In
If you have lost access to your account (e.g. the email or social account you signed up with is no longer available), send a deletion request to hello@amazonia.tours from the address associated with your account, with the subject line "Data deletion request".
To help us locate your account, please include any of the following you remember: the username or display name on amazonia.tours, the approximate date you signed up, and the login method you used (email, Facebook, Google).
We will confirm receipt within three (3) business days and complete the deletion within thirty (30) days.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we remove:
- Your account profile and credentials
- Personal information you provided (name, email, avatar, bio)
- Media you uploaded (photos, videos, documents)
- Content you created (recommendations, comments, giveaway entries, favorites)
- Authentication tokens issued to your device
- Data received from third-party login providers (Facebook, Google) that identifies you
What We May Retain
Some data is retained after deletion to comply with legal and accounting obligations. Unless the law requires otherwise, we keep only what is strictly necessary:
- Anonymized analytics (no longer linkable to you)
- Financial records required by tax and accounting law
- Records of legal or regulatory requests we have received
Retained data is never used to re-create your profile or contact you for marketing.
Facebook / Meta Login Data
If you signed up or signed in through Facebook, deleting your account on amazonia.tours also removes the identifier (Facebook user ID) and profile fields we received from Facebook. You can additionally remove our app's access to your Facebook account from your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites page, at any time.
Revoking access on Facebook alone does not delete the data we already hold — you still need to request deletion through the steps above for us to erase your profile on our side.
Timeline
Self-serve deletion is immediate. Email requests are processed within thirty (30) days of receipt. Backups containing residual data are overwritten on our standard rotation schedule and are not used except to restore service in the event of a technical incident.
